The “Trans-parent” truth

Holy Bibles and eyeglasses on a table

As I looked out from the watchtower…

“HAAAHA HAAA HAAA!”

I could not help the big fat laugh that escaped my lips.

Pardon my “trans-parent” truth!

In my defense though, this was one of the funniest things I had seen on someone’s WhatsApp status in a long while. Ironically, this post essentially put a comedic twist on a most serious issue that I had been closely following for the past few months.

So, to answer the question that you’ve probably already scanned ahead to find out, “What was this post?”

Well, it was a post made by a church sister of mine who is of the rounder, “fuller figure” category. In her written musings (below a picture of herself on her WhatsApp status) she expressed, in essence, that THOUGH the picture clearly shows her as being more on the zaftig or plump side, she feels and is choosing to identify as “skinny.” Then came the conundrum of reconciling her “feelings/preference” with reality.  This of course led to her next post that took me right out!

Does this mean I’m Trans-Slender?”

Well, does it? That’s me asking now…

Clearly, her post was a tongue-in-cheek way of poking holes in the flesh-led/demonic agenda of “trans-genderism”. What it did as well, however, was succinctly put into focus the absolute absurdity of the new wave that has taken over the world by storm. This new push, especially in the “trans movement” is where reality, truth, and facts are being distorted and twisted to fit into “preferences.”

Now, let me backtrack a little by providing some context. As a prefix, trans is defined as “on the other side of” and is also often used as the shortened form of transgender. Transgender, according to Planned Parenthood, “means your gender identity is different from the gender that the doctor gave you when you were born, based on the way your body looked.”

Say what now?!!

Now with that disclaimer out of the way, let’s move on to the crux of the issue.

In simple terms, at the heart of transgenderism is the idea that one’s gender (male or female) is somehow in conflict with the gender identity you feel that you are or ought to be. Especially in the West, this demonic ideology is being heavily pushed and promoted to the point of a deafening crescendo. It has permeated policies, institutions, the education system, homes, communities, businesses, daily interactions, and of course, not to be left out… yes, even the church.

Transgenderism is one of those issues that is hell-bent (all pun intended) on finding ways to undermine Biblical truths and by extension, biological realities. Many have gotten caught up in this unholy foray, choosing to cover their compromise under the umbrella cloak of “acceptance and inclusion.” Stemming from this, we daily see the unfolding results of a decline in morality, and one might even argue, “sensibility.”

Well, I guess one might say that this is one of the naturally expected results when mankind chooses to reject the truth and principles of God; God leaves them over to depraved minds. And boy oh boy, depravity seems to know no boundaries! Just when you think it can’t possibly get any more depraved, it does.

Nevertheless, depravity or not, the truth of God still stands and refuses to bend to the world’s “preferences” of truth or reality. It is this truth that we have to bravely and boldly contend for in these days, as the Word of God continues to come under overt and covert attack.

Well, how do we do this? How do we stand?

Standing boldly and holding fast to the Truth first requires that we know what the truth is, and secondly, that we believe that God’s Word is the truth. After all, you can’t very well defend a position if you don’t even know what it is or worse, have doubts that the Word of God is true in its pronouncements on the matter.

As Christians we are not called to bury our heads in the sand and pretend that all hell isn’t breaking loose – both within and without the church. Instead, we are called to defend our faith by holding fast to the truth and shining this light of truth into the dark madness of this world.

So, back to the matter at hand. Now that you are somewhat up to speed on the basics of transgenderism, follow along as I help to shine a few beams of foundational truths into this present darkness and its associated gender issues and debates.

Where to begin…? How about at the beginning, a beginning which will still remain in force at the end of time!

ONE

In the beginning…

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” Genesis 1:27

“He [Jesus] answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female…” Matthew 19:4

There are only two genders: male and female.

Any diversion from this classification; be it transgender, non-binary, gender neutral, two-spirit, third gender, pangender or any of the 72 or 100 plus “genders” is nothing but a calculated attack by the enemy on Biblical truth. Compromising on this critical truth about gender and gender identity has far-reaching implications for humanity, and even more so, eternity.

TWO

Biologically Speaking …

Males:

  • Are chromosomally different from females; Males have XY sex chromosomes and only males have the “Y” chromosome.
  • Only males have testes and produce sperm.
  • Males cannot get pregnant.

Only males can impregnate a female.

Females:

  • Are chromosomally different from males. Females have XX sex chromosomes.
  • Only females have ovaries, produce eggs, and can bear children.
  • Only females can get pregnant.

A hundred, maybe even up to 15 years ago, outlining these basic differences between males and females would’ve seemed nonsensical and unnecessary as the indisputable facts were without question. Fast forward to present day however, and even basic, seemingly “common sense” truth has to be stoutly defended against increasingly popular and unGodly dogma.

Imagine that…having to defend the differences between males and females!

What’s next? Genderless babies?

Oh, (face in palms moment right there).  Apparently, those exist, too. They’re called “theybies” – “a baby raised without the construct of gender, enabling them to choose their own when the time comes.” (Definition taken from the Macmillan dictionary)

Ok, “theybies” aside…

The world is upside down, not God

The world is upside down and in the throes of great confusion. What we are seeing play out right before our eyes is indisputable evidence of man’s fall and the absolute necessity of grace as provided for through Christ’s redemptive work on the cross. You see, when mankind fell due to Adam’s sin in the garden, we all inherited a fallen nature. This fallen nature provides the perfect breeding ground for confusion and demonic activity in man’s spiritual, physical, physiological, psychological, and emotional state of being. Hence, many people are genuinely confused, possessed, rebellious, and in need of salvation and regeneration.

This is where we come in.

The transparent truth is that the line between truth and lies, moral and immoral have long been blurred by the world to suit its fancy, and the battle rages for what little remains. Christians are called to stand up and speak up. We are the hands, mouths, and feet that God will use to bring truth, freedom, and light to those who are lost, such as transgenders. We will not be able to do this however, if we seek to compromise on God’s truth under the guise of “acceptance and inclusion”.

God’s word is true and unchanging, no matter how the world throws its tantrums or how some churches or members try to fit in with the popular worldviews.

It is time for the church to arm itself with the requisite knowledge of what’s happening in the Word and the world.

It is time to stand and defend the truth. It is only the truth of God that can set free those who are bound and keep from falling those who are saved.

Until next time, watching from the watchtower

These two inspired books provide an invaluable resource for students, especially Christians in, or about to embark on the college journey. This is especially important in this time as statistics highlight that many young Believers fall away from the faith while in college; sadly falling victim to the pressures, worldly allures, and distractions that come their way during this time. Often taboo topics in the Christian faith such as dating, sex and sexuality are frankly explored from a Biblical standpoint in these books. Minister Rodney outlines the various issues that stand in the way of maintaining a close relationship with God while in college, as well as provides practical and biblically-grounded strategies that students can use to overcome them.
